The people and teams who make up Plenty are at the core of how we do that. We are an ag-tech company looking for a Research Associate, Post-harvest to develop baselines and metrics to further post-harvest objectives.

About Role

Plant Science team is in the early stages of a rapid-growth phase.  Success in this area is critical to the advancement of Plenty’s mission to bring delicious, nutritious, low-cost produce to people around the world.  As Plant Sciences Post-Harvest Research Associate, you will work closely with crop development leads to develop crop physiological baselines, quality metrics and perform shelf life trials all with the goal of reaching company market goals.

What You'll Do

  • Run crop physiology tests such as titratable acidity and brix
  • Discover and implement quality metrics and guides that allow rapid appraisal of new crops
  • Conduct in-depth crop analysis using chemical and spectrophotometer methods
  • Utilize Microsoft office suite and google documents to record and track post-harvest experiments and to share-out results and progress as required
  • Develop and run shelf life experiments using environmental systems to simulate various conditions
  • Work closely with crop development leads to aid in crop variety screening

What We're Looking For

  • BS with 2 years laboratory experience or a MS in chemistry, biochemistry, agronomy, botany or a related field
  • Experience managing and running complicated experiments
  • Strong systematic thinking and attention to detail
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and making decisions with incomplete information
  • Comfort with fast-paced change and ability to adapt to new goals
  • Obsession with meaningful, measurable outcomes
  • Ability to dig into data, synthesize results, and glean insights
  • Experience in agriculture strongly preferred
  • Continued desire to learn
