Food Safety Coordinator Technician

About Role

As a Food Safety Coordinator Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the improvement and implementation of Plenty’s Food Safety Program to minimize and eliminate the risk of any potential food safety hazard. 

What You'll Do

Food Safety Program:

  • Daily monitor of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for compliance 

  • Participate in Monthly Self Inspection and other Food Safety Programs 

  • Maintain and initiate all record keeping pertinent to the Food Safety Program 

  • Perform environmental swabs and microbiological sampling, submittal to local laboratory for analysis 

  • Assist the Compliance Manager in specific training and daily initiatives addressing quality, food safety, and sanitation issues to drive process improvements 

  • Conduct work station inspections to verify compliance Verify Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) logs and other documents are accurately completed on a daily basis 

  • Create charts, trending reports, training materials and visuals 

  • Train hourly employees as needed 

  • Develop and implement SSOP and SOP when necessary Perform other tasks as requested

  • Follow process guidelines and expedite food safety concerns to management

  • Perform the pre-op audits, making sure that the document is completed at least monthly 

  • Work closely with labs and the CS team to ensure data is being stored and analyzed appropriately 

  • QC/QA: Work closely with supply chain team to ensure incoming raw materials are properly testing and results recorded 

  • Lab Technician: Maintain equipment in lab, Maintain calibration program, Keep lab clean 

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university and related work experience 

  • 2+ years of experience 

  • Experience in a lab setting 

  • Experience implementing new programs

  • Knowledge of office administrator responsibilities, systems and procedures

  • Highly motivated/self-starter who is able to work autonomously

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
