About Role

Plenty is looking for ambitious and driven individuals searching for a unique and challenging opportunity to join our Global Supply Chain team. As a Global Supply Manager (GSM) for Direct Materials, you will be responsible for a set of commodities that are critical inputs for farm operations. Our GSMs make strategic decisions regarding commodity strategy, supplier sourcing, commercial issues/negotiations, and cost reduction plans, as well as overall supplier management and regularly engaging with other internal teams including Engineering, Legal, Finance, Marketing, New Product Introduction, Farm Operations and Plant Science.

A successful candidate should be walking in as a top performer with a broad range of experience. We are looking for folks who can work quickly, deliver immediate results and find ways to raise the bar every day. A successful candidate is technically strong, relentless, locates and removes inefficiencies, is innovative and can communicate complex topics simply.

What You'll Do

  • Supply Chain Management: identify, develop, and manage Plenty’s growing Supply Chain network.

  • Help establish our global supply chain strategy, identifying those growth vendors that can best meet Plenty’s requirements of cost, quality, and technology, and identify those vendors that should be phased-out.

  • Cost Management: achieve most efficient costs for parts and components while helping enable Plenty’s unique design requirements.

  • Cross-functional Support / Leadership: support cross-functional teams during development and ramp.

  • Manage Availability: ensure product availability and supplier capability to support production demand

  • Program Management: manage resources and tasks to achieve program objectives.

  • Commodities areas include, but are not limited to: Seeds, Soil, Nutrients, Chemicals, Packaging

  • Establish and maintain supplier quality and traceability standard for the supply base 

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability.

  • Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve.

  • Strong Negotiator with highly effective communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Understanding of manufacturing process in area of placement preferred.

  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects, with various cross functional teams

  • Team player and with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to influence teams to move in a positive direction.

  • A burning desire to work for the coolest company on the planet and change the world.
