About Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work on the design of the plumbing systems within the farm in order to help create the most efficient farms that the world has ever seen. In this role you will be designing various plumbing systems. The fluid systems within our farm are critical for keeping our plants happy, which enables Plenty’s produce to reach people globally at an accessible price. You will be part of a passionate and dynamic team that is developing new technology from the ground up.

What You'll Do

  • Design compressed air, domestic water, sanitary sewer, natural gas, and fire sprinkler systems by:
  • Performing design calculations
  • Selecting equipment
  • Working in 3D to produce system layouts
  • Producing written specifications
  • Collaborate with teams designing major subsystems of the farm and stakeholders across Plenty
  • Manage consultants and construction partners to ensure system designs are built as designed, on time, and within budget

What We're Looking For

  • Experience implementing innovative and sustainable plumbing designs from concept phase through commissioning
  • Experience with Plumbing and Building Code(s) and applicable NFPA knowledge in various local and international jurisdictions
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit. Experience with Catia is a plus
  • 2-5 years of relevant plumbing design experience: Exceptionally collaborative approach with strong communication skills
  • BS / MS in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
