The people and teams who make up Plenty are at the core of how we do that. We are looking for an experienced People Partner, with a strong generalist background who has supported multiple executives and their teams in a hypergrowth environment. The People Partner is a key member of the People Operations team who will create and execute on people strategies to accelerate business objectives. 

About Role

Reporting to the Director of People Operations, you will play an integral role in supporting and driving an engaged employee experience and People processes for Plenty’s rapidly growing organization in South San Francisco.

What You'll Do

  • Understand Plenty’s business, values and culture; use them to guide recommendations and decision-making.

  • Align business objectives with employees and management in designated business units.

  • Act as an employee champion and change agent by assessing and anticipating People-related needs, evaluate options, develop and drive needed change initiatives.

  • Deliver seamless People support to managers and employees by leveraging people programs, processes and systems, educating on policies and best practices.

  • Advise leaders and managers on people-related issues; manage and resolve complex employee relations matters in a consistent, empathetic, and legally sound manner.

  • Provide expertise and guidance in the following areas: career planning, performance management, coaching, data analysis, compensation and rewards, employee relations, learning and development, recognition programs, organizational design and strategic development.

  • Work closely across all business functions to offer solutions for continuous improvement.

  • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.

  • Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations when needed.

  • Formulate partnerships across the People function to deliver value-added service to management and employees; develop programs that build and support employee engagement, ownership of our culture, productivity, and leadership development.

  • Analyze data, understand trends, and develop recommendations that tie back to business priorities.

  • Manages special projects as assigned in a broad range of areas, as business needs arise.

What We're Looking For

  • 8-10+ years of progressive Human Resources, People Operations, people partnering or other relevant experience

  • Four-year degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development or Business, from an accredited university, highly desired

  • Excitement to work in a startup environment; track record of being adaptable to changing priorities in a fluid, high-growth environment

  • Team player with a sense of ownership and "get things done" attitude

  • Able to work at a high level of autonomy to manage multiple ongoing issues and complex employee matters with minimum supervision

  • Demonstrated understanding of HR Business Partner/People Partner practices including organization design, talent strategy, performance management, change management and executive relationship building

  • Deep knowledge of HR compliance regulations, employment law, and industry best practices

  • Organized with attention to detail and able to make timely, effective, principle-based decisions

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal) and exemplary customer service skills; articulate and persuasive communicator

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving experience

  • A track record of providing HR/People advice and solutions to senior leaders on employee and organizational issues

  • Values and respects confidentiality

  • Ability to build partnerships and establish rapport and credibility at all levels
