About Role

Plenty Unlimited Inc is looking for an experienced Senior Manager for the establishment and ongoing management of business improvement projects in combination with facilities team management. This role is responsible for planning, executing and completing projects on-time, within budget as agreed with key project stakeholders. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of project team members and third party providers to deliver projects according to plan. This role is also responsible for leading our projects and maintenance team to achieve their daily and weekly goals.

What you'll do:

Program/Project Management:

  • Direct projects related to upcoming research plans or improving operations. Define project scope, budget, and resources. Obtain executive approval and provide regular reports as to project progress. Lead the project team
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and track resource hours expended on the project
  • Direct and monitor program and project budgets
  • Develop Project Roadmaps in collaboration with team members and department leads for presentation of details for approval
  • Apply knowledge of facility and systems to proactively identify and solve grow space/facility limitations
  • Define and manage project schedules to support R&D/Facilities goals
  • Work with cross-functional engineering teams to design and implement new equipment
  • Assist with design efforts for technical execution and manufacturability
  • Plan and drive schedules while managing and tracking cost and budget
  • Coordinate multiple products and projects and communicate staffing needs for timely execution
  • Coordinate multiple vendors for both projects and maintenance for timely execution
  • Communicate project risks and issues to relevant stakeholders and escalate where appropriate in line with escalation process 
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and track resource hours expended on the project  
  • Execute a successful handover of project outputs into the relevant support area of the business, with special attention to handover to the maintenance team  
  • Pro-actively identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team  
  • Comply with all local legislative requirements
  • Lead or participate in internal improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, plant science, business, operations management, project management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Past experience with capital improvement projects
  • Past experience in a research- or agriculture-oriented industry preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Plant Science and/or Controlled Environment Agriculture preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • 8+ years of prior experience as a project, program, or operations manager or equivalent role
  • Demonstrated past experience managing to a budget
  • Demonstrated past experience as a team lead 
  • Familiarity with project and program management tools, such as Confluence, Smartsheets, etc.

 Food Safety Requirement

  • Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
