Plenty is changing the way the world grows food, and that comes with a wide variety of legal opportunities to explore. We are looking for a senior paralegal to support our growing team and help tackle the range of issues we encounter every day. Your primary role will be supporting all aspects of the legal function; interfacing with the business on legal matters; helping to design and implement contract management solutions; and eventually hiring and training additional contracts administrators or paralegals as part of an overall support team. In this role you will report to the Director, Legal. The role is based in South San Francisco, CA, though the team is working remotely during COVID-19.

What You'll do
Manage and improve our contract management system and databases.
Assist with workflow management and closing out contracts.
Administer our equity platform and coordinate capitalization table management between legal, finance and HR functions.
Coordinate with Plenty’s IP Manager on implementing an IP management system, tracking filing deadlines, gathering invention disclosures, etc.
Support subsidiary management and potential international operations.
Assist with strategic planning for legal function, including budgeting, selecting and managing outside vendors, etc.
Develop and improve cross-functional workflows, guidelines and playbooks to provide efficient legal support to the business.
Provide initial review and comment to a variety of commercial contracts and templates.
Generally be ready to help handle whatever arises – we’re a startup, and every day is different!
What We're Looking For
Four-year college degree (or otherwise meet paralegal certification requirements)
Minimum 6 years paralegal experience at top law firm or in-house (experience with both preferred)
Strong time management and prioritization skills, as well as ability to effectively interface and partner with business leads in various departments.
Overall ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, mission-driven environment, where every day brings a new challenge that will push you outside of your comfort zone.
Experience incorporating and managing subsidiaries.
Familiarity with commercial contacts, real estate, construction, or equity matters a plus but not required.

Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
